Nigeria health agency has reported 561 new cases of the deadly coronavirus, bringing its total infections to 25, 694.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed this in a late night tweet via its official account.
The new cases were recorded across 18 states out of 36 state and the Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
According to the breakdown of new cases of infections in the country, the NCDC revealed that the five states with the highest number of COVID-19 were Lagos – 200, Edo – 119, Kaduna – 52, Niger – 32 and Ogun 19.
States with minor cases include:16, Imo – 14, Plateau – 11, Abia and Oyo states each having 8 cases, Bayelsa – 7 and Katsina – 6. Kano – 5, Bauchi, Osun and Kebbi each having 3 cases, Borno – 2 and Jigawa – 1.
From the new report, 344 more patients have been successfully treated and discharged.
9,746 people have been discharged so far, while, 17 more patients lost the battle to coronavirus.
NCDC confirmed 590 death toll from the disease in the country.
