My Fate on Demotion And Dismissal Relies on Army Council’s Decision:
Shortly after the conviction of General Hakeem Otiko by the General Court Martial sitting in Abuja, he spoke yesterday that he is awaiting the final decision of the Nigeria Army Council on his fate before taking further steps.
Recall that Otiki was found guilty by the military Court Martial on five count charges and was dishonourably ordered to be dismissed inter-alia from service over missing funds.
The counsel to the accused, Isreal Olohundare openly declared after the trial that the conviction and sentencing by the General Court Martial “did not reflect the realities on ground, facts, witnesses called and evidences tendered” hence they are looking forward to a favourable response from the Army Council on
From a reliable source, Otiki may go outside the Court Martial to get justice if he did not get a favourable response from them.
