Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have kidnapped four persons including three humanitarian workers and a soldier along Monguno/Maiduguri highway.
The incident which took place on Tuesday in Guzamala; one of the busiest local government area along Maiduguri highway at about 11:30am put the area on standstill with no human and vehicular movements for about an hour before the arrival of the security operatives.
Meanwhile, State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, has confirmed the kidnapping of its staff.
An official of SEMA, who spoke in anonymity because he was not permitted to speak, said the kidnapped staff works as a camp manager in Monguno town.
“Yes, we heard about the unfortunate incident on Tuesday between Monguno and Maiduguri.
“We learnt that four persons were forcefully whisked away by Boko Haram terrorist including our SEMA staff, two NGO workers, and a soldier.
“We are poignant,” the SEMA source said.
SEMA Chairperson, Hajiya Ya’bawa Kolo, who confirmed the news in an interview with our reporter, said the agency had apprised the security operatives.
“Yes, we have reported the matter to the police and others who are currently working on information dispatched to them by the driver of the car, we have also engage all efforts. Join us in prayer please,” she said.

When contacted, army spokesman, Colonel Sagir Musa told our source that he was not aware of the incident.
