As countries of the world are now developing vaccines to the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic, Federal Medical Center, Umuhia Abia State of Nigeria has decided to isolate two COVID-19 victims for proper treatment.
A statement credited to the Abia state governor’s media adviser, Ferdinand Ekeoma said FMC Umuhia unveiled the evacuation decision Tuesday 21st April 2020.
Ekeoma noted, “FMC Umuhia yesterday evening announced the evacuation of the 2 Covid-19 patients to an isolation facility for care and contact tracing of all who were involved in the management of the patients in casualty, ICU, Male Medical Ward and Ludlow Slessor Complex.
They also disclosed that the affected areas have been shut down for now and decontamination has started.
