Nike will be closing its stores temporarily in the United States of America. This was announced today, March 15th 2020, being Sunday that it is closing all of its stores in the U.S., along side other parts of the world over the fear of the pandemic coronavirus fears.
This decision will affect the company and its customers in the U.S., Canada, Western Europe, Australia and New Zealand this decision will fully take effect on monday.
Nike stated: “The well-being of our teammates and consumers is our top priority so we have decided to close our stores in multiple countries around the world including in the United States, Canada, Western Europe, Australia and New Zealand to limit the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19),” Nike said in a memo to workers, CNBC reported.
The company posited that their workers will still be paid in full during this time off, CNBC reported.
However, Nike stores in South Korea, Japan, China and in “many other countries,” remains intact, the company said.
