Oscar Disqualifies The Film Directed By Genevieve, Say It Was Predominantly in English Language:

In all ramifications, there is no doubt that one Nigeria is only on a rough paper… it doesn’t exist at all!

The film, Lion’s Heart directed by Genevieve Nnaji which was chosen by Oscar for 2020 award has just been disqualified on the basis of language.

Oscar were disappointed by the borrowed language (English) which dominated the film. The unprecedented controversy by the Oscar decision has given Genevieve another insight about OneNigeria. Her tweets few hours ago confirms that:

According to the Academy, the film was disqualified due to language requirements category as it was filmed mostly in English. Even though it the film is having some Igbo parts, an Academy rule states that films must have “a predominantly non-English dialogue track” in order to be considered for the category. So, that makes it ineligible. Igbos in the diaspora have criticized this unfortunate experience, said one Nigeria is nothing but a deceit ochestratrated by the British government.
