Abductors gave me money- Iniobong Ekong

Iniobong Ekong, The senior Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom Governor on Security Matters, Captain Iniobong Ekong (retd.),

was released recently by his abductors on Monday said he was rendered luscious positions and money he never had before to renounce his position and proceed to the opposition party All Progressives Congress (APC).


The senior special assistant to the governor was picked up during the elections season by soldiers reportedly on the petition reported to have been written by the Minister of the Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio.


Eking who spoke to journalists at his office in Uyo, said, “The promises I was given were so enticing and nobody could deny but I denied. I don’t know how it happens.It came with position, finance, guarantees , everything. And it came at the time I most likely didn’t have those things that came.

“But I thank God that I stood where I stood and for one single second in the whole incident,I never for once wanted to think about it. I was only concerned about the relationship and the explanation”.
